Hotel Dom Vasco is located in Sines, a coastal town of The Alentejo region in southern Portugal.
Sines is just a few kilometers away from the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, one of Portugal's natural protected zones. The area has spectacular views over the seashore with cliffs hiding wonderful sandy beaches and estuaries.

The Hotel takes its name from one of Sines and Portugal's most prominent historical figures, Vasco da Gama, who in the 15th century sailed for the first time from Portugal to India.
A tour can be made passing places related with Vasco da Gama, from the castle where he spent his childhood to the statue built in his honour which is symbolically facing the vast sea.
Sines still preserves much of its medieval character. Its castle walls were built using the structure of a 7th century Visigothic temple.
