Estalagem do Cacador (Hunter's Inn) is in the northeastern region of Portugal, Tras-os-Montes. This is an area of rugged moorland and sleepy stone villages where the way of life has remained unchanged throut the ages.
Its capital, Braganca, has an ancient walled citadel standing on an isolated hilltop. There is a circle of perfectly preserved medieval walls rising to a massive keep and castle enclosing a white medieval village.
The surrounding Parque Natural de Montesinho is an extensive nature reserve covering 70,000 hectares of protected landscape.
The Inn is located in in the small town of Macedo de Cavaleiros and was opened in 1952. It displays collections of the owners travels of the world and provides comfortable accommodation and spacious living areas.
There are of twenty five bedrooms, all very different, with en-suite bathrooms and equipped with modern facilities.
The restaurant specializes in serving International cuisine dishes.
The Inn has lush gardens with shady areas where you can eat your meals in the evenings, surrounded by the colour and fragrance of the plants.
There is an outdoor swimming pool that is open during the summer period. If wanting to use it in spring or autumn, please confirm this on reservation.
